Monday January 14th 2013

Latitude: 1,58,42S
Longitude: 31,54,0W
Course: 205 degrees
Speed: 19.3 knots
Status: Day 10 – at sea
Notes: We crossed the Equator at around 2.00am local time, or 4.00am UK time. In keeping with an old tradition, there was an article in our daily newsletter saying that “Permission has been sought for Arcadia to cross the Equator. Word has been sent to King Neptune, Ruler of the Seven Seas. A message has been received that he will visit Arcadia and all passengers are required to attend to celebrate the crossing of the line.” I attended the celebratory event – I did not wish to incur Neptune’s wrath, or see inside Davy Jones’s locker thank you very much!
